Volunteers for this committee are asked to help in the Hilltop library. They assist children with checking out books and shelving returned books. Training provided. Chair is responsible for setting up schedule.

All volunteers will be required to attend mandatory training and education supplied by the administration.  Schedules for this training will be published in the coming weeks.

After discussions with Mrs. LeMay, we are going to try a different method this year. Instead of a sign-up form online, I will post the Master Library Schedule here and Mrs. LeMay will add to her website.  ANYTIME you are able to go, you can refer to the schedule and just go! She welcomes the spontaneous help greatly; even 15 minutes here or there to keep on top of shelving books. Please see other info below and let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for your help!

Click here for the library's master schedule

1) If you weren't able to attend the training Mrs. LeMay hosted, she will walk you through the first time you go to the library to volunteer. Also, there is a binder on her desk that covers all the info you need. It outlines where and how books are filed, how to check in/out books, and other helpful information. You can also contact me with specific questions.

2) Thank you in advance for your flexibility and understanding when related arts schedules change due to delayed openings or early dismissal days. There might be a time you come to the library hoping to volunteer, and the door is locked! Ms. Katie in the from office is always willing to help if you call her to check the schedule for a particular time or day.

3) There is no need to tell Mrs. LeMay if you are going. All help is welcome!!

Why volunteeer for the HSA?

  • Get Connected. There’s no better way to know what’s happening in your school.

  • Discover Great Resources. The HSA offers a variety of programs designed for parents as well as students.

  • Tap into a Network. HSA functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and discussing issues that are on your mind. You an share ideas, concerns, and experiences.

  • Watch Yourself Grow. By volunteering with your HSA, you put your skills and hobbies to use for a noble cause—your child and all children in the community.

  • Witness Improvement. By getting involved at your child’s school you’ll be part of the solution, helping make positive changes. Local HSAs play an important role in fundraising to provide building improvements, curriculum-based programs, and social events.

  • Be a Role Model. By becoming a HSA member, you’ll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education.
